The African Eagle Owl, also known as the Cape Eagle Owl, is a medium-sized owl species recognizable by its striking yellow eyes, dark ear tufts, and speckled brown-gray plumage. The African Eagle Owl is widespread across sub-Saharan Africa and inhabits various environments, including savannas, semi-deserts, grasslands, and even occasionally urban areas. It prefers rocky cliffs, trees, and abandoned buildings for nesting. This adaptability makes it one of the most common owl species on the African continent. It primarily hunts at dusk and during the night, using its sharp vision and keen hearing to locate prey.
