Landscape in spring with sheep on the moor and a farmer on a cart with a horse in front of it, a draft horse harnessed. Florent Nicolas Crabeels (Antwerp, Flanders, Belgium 5 December 1829 - 7 June 1896) was a Belgian genre and landscape painter. He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, initially painting scenes from villages and small town markets. Later, he turned to landscapes from the Kempen region and became an avid proponent of painting en plein aire. He did much of his work in the artists' colony in Wechelderzande. In 1886, he was one of the founding members of "L'Art Indépendant".
