St.Servaas Brögk - Sint Servaasbrug in Maastricht with a view of Wijck. (W:H = 8:3) The Saint Servaas Bridge is a bridge from the Roman Period. Because of the bridge, people gave the city the name, Mosae Trajectum. TRAIECTUM; in the vernacular TRICHT. Mosa ad Traiectum or Road across the Meuse >> MAASTRICHT. This is how Maastricht came into being. The bridge was built at the place where people used to be able to cross the Meuse dry-footed.
