A still life from the series "Double Shape" (Doubleshape).
The shape and size of the gourd and the vase it stands on are (almost) exactly the same.
I am often looking for objects that have a similar shape but a completely different function or material. I combine these objects in a simple still life composition.

After leaving the academy in 1984, I painted for many years. Since about twenty years I have really only made photographic works. Mostly still lifes with glass vases. Glass is a fantastic -but also difficult- material to photograph.
I like to put people on the wrong foot with my works. Hopefully you recognize this when you see my work. Still lifes from a different perspective.
