In this picture you see the petals of a Cornus kousa that has dropped its leaves on the ground after flowering. I think it is a beautiful still life with all its structures, colours and traces of the ravages of time, a form of lived beauty. The fact that an ant comes to see if there is something to its liking makes the picture extra nice.
