Stoerhead Lighthouse and Point of Stoer are located on the coast beyond Lochinver in Assynt, Scotland. A few boggy paths lead you to the Old Man of Stoer and the lighthouse on the steep cliffs. At the lighthouse you can see the western Highlands to the south on a clear day and to the west the mountains of the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides are visible across The Minch.
This lighthouse is a so-called Stevenson lighthouse. In the 19th century, the Stevenson family provided beacons for a large part of the Scottish coast on behalf of the Northern Lighthouse Board.
