The Gemeentegrot is a marl quarry in Valkenburg. The tunnel system was carved by humans! Marl is soft limestone that is easy to break and saw. Which makes it good for building. All sorts of images and statues have been carved out, and suddenly you come across a boat that has run aground. With a little imagination, you can see a sailing…
