About the artwork
Tulips in unusual colours, in a vase of clouds and in peculiar surroundings.
The longer you look at the tulips, the more you discover and the more you marvel. Do I see the leg of an insect there? And in the background, is that a snail's shell?
The work is composed of different photos, taken at different locations both in the Netherlands and abroad. Photos of cloudscapes, insects, highly enlarged close-ups of flowers, etc. All colours have been edited and only part of each photo is used.
The inspiration for this collage was the song 'A Tulip is much more beautiful than an expensive Orchid, as long as it is given out of love' sung by André Hazes. A nice theme in expensive times.
This image on the wall is a real eye-catcher, remains intriguing and will not easily get boring.
