On my travels through Asia, I've seen many religious buildings. One of the most impressive and picturesque temples is the Bouddhanath Temple in the heart of Kathmandu. Besides, the fact that it's a deeply religious place and that you can find people from all over the world, it's mainly a place where Buddhist Monks come to pray. They walk clockwise around the Stupa tower.
You can see the fourteen golden rings stacked onto one another that represent the stages that you have to go through to reach Nirvana.
You can also see the Tibetan prayer flags. They are always in the same order: blue, white, red, green and yellow and are covered in written prayers. People believe that those prayers are then taken by the wind and brought over to the gods.
The photo reflects the happy and colourful atmosphere that I felt while visiting this buzzing place. It was warm and busy, but everyone - Buddhist or Hindu - found their way peacefully.
