This clean, graphic coastal image captures the quiet moments on Scheveningen beach. The composition is dominated by a stack of stacked, mint-green beach chairs and the wooden crates with numbered compartments. This creates a sleek, modular structure against the organic chaos of the sand and sea. To the right is one lone chair, inviting and serene.
My inspiration lay in the visual aesthetic of repetition and tranquillity. I wanted to capture the atmosphere of a calm beach, before or after the crowds, with the chairs turning into abstract, architectural forms. The cool blue sky and sea contrast nicely with the warm sand and striking mint-green chairs. The ships on the horizon enhance the sense of openness and holiday.
The atmosphere is one of order, peace and summer serenity. The work is a visual anchor that brings a sense of calm and familiarity.
This image is special in interiors seeking a soothing, graphic accent. Perfect for the bathroom, an office or a living room, it instantly evokes a relaxed holiday feeling.
"Order by the seaside; the serene geometry of holiday, a pile of promises at the beach."
