I created this work based on three photos taken during my holiday in the south of France. I came up with this tranquil scene: a weathered tree trunk, gently foaming waves, the beach and a cat sleeping languidly in the sand, as if it had belonged there for years. Combining the images and editing them digitally gave the whole thing a picturesque, almost dreamy look.
The colours are soft and warm, the light is bright but not bright - exactly how a summer afternoon feels when you don't have to be anywhere. The cat brings a touch of personality to the image, making it just a little more playful and intimate.
For me, this work is about slowing down. About looking, breathing, and just being for a while. An ode to slow life, to summer, peace and the coincidence of a perfect moment that you would almost walk past.
