Mountain and Columbia River view in Revelstoke. It was a rainy day but fortunately the sun broke a bit through the clouds at the end of the day. Revelstoke is a small town in northeastern British Columbia, located on the Columbia River. The town was founded in 1880 as a transport and supply center for miners during the gold rush. This was reinforced by the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) in 1885. When also the timber industry with offices established here was the city of Revelstoke officially founded on March 1, 1899.
