During a misty morning in Plantloon, I deliberately zoomed in on the details. No overview of the path or avenue, just the layering of the foliage and the powerful rays of the sun breaking through it.
The combination of humid air and low sun again created solar harps, but this time captured in a denser, more intimate image. The leaves and branches caught the light and revealed subtle colour differences: from fresh yellow-green to deep dark green.
The limited cropping and zoomed-in perspective made the composition almost abstract. The repetition of structures and the play of light and shadow created rhythm and tranquillity.
I made this detail image in the forest area of Landgoed Plantloon, on the edge of the Loonse and Drunense Dunes. A place where the morning light often provides surprises - especially when there is mist in the air.
