This work shows the mountain world of the Altiplano in northern Chile at sunset. The Altiplano is the high plateau of the Andes mountain range at an altitude of over 4,000 metres and consists largely of desolate landscapes formed by volcanism. It is an arid area with high mountains, mostly volcanoes, and salt lakes, where vegetation is mostly absent. This rugged landscape is well expressed in this work. We see a salt lake with several volcanoes. The sun has just set. A full moon can be seen in the sky above the mountains, having just risen. Furthermore, we see an exceptionally beautiful lens cloud, illuminated red by the sun, which is below the horizon. Just a little more to enjoy before darkness with bitter cold to well below freezing sets in. The 2x1 panorama format gives this work a wide character. A colourful but soothing work.
