Five surfers paddle in the sea looking for waves. On the right of the picture, a wave comes rolling in, with a bird above it. The sky is typically Dutch, white/grey clouds with blue sky. The day is coming to an end and on the left you can see the light slowly change towards sunset.
I took this photo at the southern pier of Scheveningen. A less popular surf spot than on the other side of the harbor, in front of Scheveningen. But definitely worth surfing! The waves often come rolling in clean around the harbor head. This time the swell was a harbinger of storm Corrie. Where the waves now quietly come rolling in, the next day it would burst. These surfers take advantage of the calm before the storm.
