The Cranenweyer is a beautiful nature reserve in Kerkrade. The Cranenweyer also called the "Green Lung" and is located in the Anstel Valley. The Anstelvalley is a creek valley of about 220 hectares. On the slopes of the forests many spring brooks rise and flow into the Anstel.
The Cranenweyer is the only reservoir in the Netherlands. The nature reserve has a diverse flora and fauna which makes this area very special.

When portraying animals I like to capture them as natural as possible. This can be done by showing a part of the natural environment in the picture. Or by creating a very soft background (bokeh). So the animals are actually loose in the picture. And all attention can go to the animal(s).
