A photo of one of the defensive buildings of the Imperial Palace in Japan, the Tatsumi Yagura. In the foreground a white swan that contrasts nicely with the imperial white building on the other side of the water, just as the green of the leaves in the foreground can be contrasted with the green of the trees on the side of the imperial palace. This tower is part of the imperial complex of Edo Castle in the heart of Tokyo in Japan and attracts thousands of visitors every year. The building was built in 1457 by Ōta Dōkan. In 1600 Tokugawa Ieyasu founded the Tokugawa Shogunate here that lasted until 1868.
