Symphony of Flavours by Retrotimes

“Symphony of Taste” is a surprising and humorous artwork in which two worlds—the refined elegance of classical music and the everyday appeal of street food—come together brilliantly. In a stately concert hall, surrounded by an orchestra and an attentive audience, a cellist sits on stage in full regalia. But instead of a traditional instrument, he plays an unexpected object: a rotating skewer of meat, which he carves with precision and devotion as if it were a Stradivarius.

The scene exudes grandeur and discipline: the warm glow of chandeliers, the rich wooden floors and the formal attire of the musicians create a classical setting. At the same time, the central, absurd element provides a playful break with that tradition. The act of cutting and ‘playing’ takes on a rhythmic character, as if taste and sound merge here into a single experience.

This work plays with contrasts—high and low, art and consumption, expectation and surprise. It raises questions about what we consider ‘high culture’ and invites us to take a tongue-in-cheek look at our own assumptions. The precision of the composition and the rich details make the image not only funny, but also visually compelling and aesthetically powerful.

“Symphony of Taste” is a real eye-catcher for lovers of art with humour and daring. Perfect for kitchens, dining areas or creative workspaces where a playful twist is appreciated.
