This photo was taken at Strijp-S during Glow 2016 in Eindhoven.
The installation consisted of hanging light tubes that formed a strong interplay of lines in the dark.
By quietly zooming out during a longer exposure time, the straight tubes changed into warm planes. This created an abstract image that almost felt like a gate of light.
Tangerine Twist Tubes 4 is all about shape and tension.
The orange lines converge in the centre and draw your gaze in.
They create a light explosion that remains warm and calm at the same time.
An image that draws you in without overwhelming you.
For me, this picture is about movement in stasis.
You see light bars, but you experience rhythm.
The colour gives strength.
The depth gives calm.
Together with the other photos in the Tangerine Twist Tubes collection, this work forms a warm, powerful and contemporary series that shows how light, colour and movement can transform a space.
Each photograph tells the same story, but in its own way.
