I would have not expected to find a tiny child staring across the street, like an adult would about one‘s dear future. This was a stark reality that I found myself clicking, while I walking around with a camera before leaving Nepal after my medical studies. For me, it was an end of a journey in early academics. She on the other hand, was absolutely still in her thoughts. If a child has to find herself thinking so deeply in such an atmosphere, one needs to wonder what everyone else around the world is doing wrong to facilitate this. All I could say at that moment was ‚‘I am sorry.‘
I shot this picture back in 2010 in Pokhara, Nepal. Since I was about to start my medical internship during this period, I felt like this picture gave me a fresh perspective in terms of behaving with patients, especially children who comes from all walks of life.
