About ‘Temple Neuf’ by Kelvin Middelink
Temple Neuf was originally a German building. At the time of the German Empire, the entire city was transformed under the influence of the German authorities. The "New Temple" illustrates this policy of germanisation through architecture, used by William II to establish his grip on the city.
