About ‘The Chinese fishing nets’ by Hans Lok

When the tide is right. The hours when the current is least between low and high tide, the long necks to which the fishing net is attached move up and down. Fishermen who stay in place. They leave the net down, wait a while and then pick up the net again to see what the catch is. This depends not only on the current but also on the time of year. Whether the water is warmer or colder. So it is always a surprise whether something has been caught. The trees are still real trees with ropes attached to each other. To make hoisting easier, there is a counterweight. Ropes with a collection of large stones. Four men operate the colossus with muscle power just like any fisherman, hoping that a good catch will emerge from the depths of the water. It is a laborious existence especially for the tourists who see the romance of the nets and gear in the sunset over Kochi Bay.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
