The East Gate consists of a land gate and a water gate connected by a wall . The white east gate bridge is a scenic drawbridge of iron and wood. The metal railings and old street lamps create a rustic picture. The gate is part of the Delft canal and connects the Rhine- Schie canal with a number of canals , including the southern canal.
