The Erasmus Bridge at sunset by Retinas images

This atmospheric photograph shows the Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam during a colourful sunset. The iconic bridge forms the centrepiece of the modern cityscape, whilst the skyline and the River Maas seem to stretch tranquillly across the water. The shot was taken using a 10-stop ND filter and a slow shutter speed. This gives the water and the sky a soft, almost painterly quality and lends the image an extra sense of tranquillity. Deep blue hues blend into warm orange and pink colours, which are beautifully reflected in the River Maas. The combination of the elegant bridge, the open water and the Rotterdam skyline makes this photograph both recognisable and timeless. This cityscape is particularly suited to lovers of architecture, urban photography, modern landmarks and Dutch cities. As wall art, the piece fits beautifully into a modern, industrial or corporate interior. The photograph looks its best in a living room, office, hall, reception area or meeting room. The colour gradients and the reflections in the water remain strikingly visible even when mounted on acrylic glass or brushed aluminium. A distinctive portrait of Rotterdam for anyone who wishes to experience the city’s atmosphere and the distinctive lines of the Erasmus Bridge on their wall. The long exposure time emphasises the sense of space and transforms this well-known location into a tranquil moment by the water. The result is a decorative image that forges a strong connection between architecture, light, colour and the dynamism of Rotterdam.
