About the artwork

The annual Skutsje sailing race in Holland is a sight to behold. Fourteen of these traditional sailing vessels, each with an average age of 100 years, take to the waters in a fierce competition. Known as Skûtsjesilen, this regatta attracts sailors and spectators from all over the country.

On this particular day, the skies were dark and the winds were strong. The three Skutsjes depicted in this black and white photograph are battling the rough conditions, their sails taut and their masts straining against the gusts. Despite the challenges, these sailors are determined to give it their all.

The Skutsjes are a beloved part of Holland's maritime history. These sturdy vessels were once used for transportation and trade, but today they are primarily used for recreational sailing. They are a common sight on the waters of Friesland, where the Skutsje sailing race has its roots.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
