Het Sieraad The design of Het Sieraad was based on the idea that the building itself should be a piece of jewellery......Well that worked out I would say, what a beautiful building. Built in 1920 in the Amsterdam School architectural style, I have photographed this building many times before but only twice was I lucky with smooth water so I had a nice reflection. This is a panorama long-exposure of roughly 20 vertical photos. In this black-and-white series, I chose to use the long-exposure technique, using a grey filter to extend the shutter speed up to 240 seconds. This creates a flat effect on the surface of the water and smears the clouds in the sky, creating a dynamic effect and extra depth in the photos.
