Starting point are several of my own photos, which I edited in Photoshop. In the background you can see a photo of a weathered dish. The mannequin I photographed has been made more human by 'pasting' real eyes into the picture. The photo symbolises the power of women.

I've been photographing since the beginning of this century. I am a real autodidact, although I have taken courses and mentorships. I don't try to make the 'standard' picture and am often busy for weeks before the result is as I had in mind.
I would have preferred to have mastered painting, like my great uncle Johan Gabriëlse, but unfortunately I don't have a talent for drawing. With my pictures I try to compensate this a bit.
