'BEHIND THOSE EYES OF BLUE'
Series I GOT THE BLUES
The series I GOT THE BLUES is a tribute to the legacy left to us by our Dutch painters. Rembrandt, Van Gogh and Vermeer inspired me for this collection.
The paintings are painted in Delftware.
The Netherlands is the land of blue, although we have an orange royal family, our history is mainly blue coloured. We are a land of water and a land of (Delft) blue porcelain.
Many historical facts are hidden in these paintings, making them a journey into the past with the eyes of today
Like so many others, Vermeer's girl's gaze has always fascinated me. As a painter of eyes, this was a painting I so wanted to do. But in Delft blue.
Original size 180 x 140cm
