Opened in Marseille in 2013, the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations comprises two buildings: the old Fort Saint-Jean and the modern cube designed by Rudy Ricciotti. From its curtain façade with its mesh-like concrete shell, the view falls on La Joliette, Marseille's magnificent 19th century cathedral. Both buildings are located on Marseille's newly remodelled waterfront and are tourist magnets.
