An old cork oak tree on the French island of Corsica among all the coniferous trees. I came across this tree during a walk and the tree immediately caught my attention. Its size but certainly how it has grown into this beautiful specimen. Before I took the picture I sat looking at it for a while and walked around it. He makes an impression. Then tried to look up some things about cork. As far as I know and have been able to read about it, the cork bark of this old Cork Oak has not been removed for quite some time. A Cork Oak may be first stripped of its bark (cork) after 25 years and then every 8a9 years thereafter. Through my encounter with this Cork Oak learned several things and took a few pictures of it. Then gave the tree a stroke and wished it success in its further life. What a wonderful piece of nature and an amazing tree!!!
