On top of the Kollenberg in Sittard, in the province of Limburg, lies the Sint Rosa chapel. A small building, of brick and marl, with a great and rich history. The chapel was built in 1675 in honour of Rosa, the patron saint of Sittard. In 1668, a dysentery epidemic broke out in Sittard, claiming many victims. Through Rosa's intercession, the contagious disease ceased. The chapel is located along Pieterpad long-distance walk ettape Sittard to Valkenburg. This photo was taken in Summer 2017.
