I spent an evening on our Belgian beaches. Near Zeebrugge. Belgian beaches are often a bit crowded and busy. The densely built sea dykes only reinforce that feeling.
Yet the Belgian coasts have their own beauty. the beaches are often vast and overlook the west. When the sun gently sinks into full colours, the lights of the city twinkle inland.
I took this photo during an evening walk. The sinking light and colours of the sunset reflected in the shallow pools on the beach. I bent down, let my camera hover just above the water and took the picture.
You can see Zeebrugge's famous pier reflected in the water on the beach. A play of the natural light of the sunset and the artificial light of the pier.
Belgium can be very beautiful. Even our coasts, which are normally so crowded, can be indescribably beautiful.
