About ‘The Solitary Life (Anda, Bohol)’ by Sebastian Stef

In this photograph, I have captured an image that is as fragile as it is powerful, off the coast of Anda, Bohol. Set against the endless blue sky and the lapping waves of the Bohol Sea, a traditional stilt house stands as a symbol of ultimate seclusion and human resilience. The bright, primary colours of the roof contrast beautifully with the serene, almost minimalist background, whilst a solitary mangrove tree keeps the cottage company. This work invites the viewer to reflect on simplicity, tranquillity and what it means to be disconnected from the hectic world. An intriguing and calming statement piece for any modern interior.
