About ‘The Symmetry of Infinity’ by a.p.ARTandMore

The image shows a fascinating, four-fold mirrored (symmetrical) composition based on solid exposed concrete structures. The original motif has been mirrored both horizontally and vertically. This grid pattern (in four parts) creates a surreal, almost psychedelic and strictly geometric abstraction.

The curved concrete walls and pillars form a central, hourglass- or chalice-like negative form in the middle, whilst the lines flow dynamically to all four corners of the square.

The artwork exudes a deep, meditative tranquillity, timelessness and monumental strength. The cool aloofness of the concrete merges with the soft lines and the diffuse, cloud-shrouded sky to form a poetic symbiosis.

It conveys a sense of order, balance and inner contemplation. At the same time, a subtle, surreal melancholy and a fascination with the infinite resonate within it – as if one were gazing into another dimension or an architectural paradox.
