The Urban Collection | Aveiro
Sometimes it seems as if an urban jungle consists only of concrete and bricks. But if you look closely, you often see the most human things. A cup of coffee on the windowsill, a green terrace on the balcony or a clothesline stretched between two houses.
When I visited Aveiro in Portugal, I saw how people stretched washing wires between houses to dry their sheets and clothes. That looked very cheerful among all those tall city houses. I waited for a breeze, raised the camera and took a picture of the laundry blowing in the wind.
This photo represents what I perhaps like most about travelling: people are just people everywhere in the world. We all do trivial things like hanging the laundry or cooking a pot. People are just people, whether you are on Kilimanjaro or in central Utrecht. Or in Aveiro, Portugal.
