About ‘The Willems Bridge’ by Martijn Barendse

The Willemsbrug, one of Rotterdam's many bridges. The Willemsbrug is a cable-stayed bridge in the Netherlands, located in the city of Rotterdam. The bridge spans the river Nieuwe Maas and is 270 metres long. he current Willemsbrug is the second bridge at this location. The first bridge was opened in 1878 and raised for shipping in 1927. Until the Maas Tunnel opened in 1943, the Willemsbrug was the only fixed bank connection in Rotterdam. Even before World War II, there were plans to replace the old Willemsbrug, but due to the war, reconstruction and lack of money, it did not materialise. In 1965, the eastbound Van Brienenoordbrug and the westbound Beneluxtunnel opened in 1967, making traffic less dependent on the Willemsbrug and Maastunnel. Eventually, the Willemsbrug was replaced by the current bridge in 1981. The bridge was opened on 1 July 1981, it was the first official act of crown prince (later king) Willem-Alexander.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
