The bulb mill in Deventer during sunset.
The mill was built in 1863 by the Elfrink brothers. The wooden octagonal upper porch with rack stands on a square substructure with saw barn and has a slipway for pulling the tree trunks out of the water. The scaffolding is at an altitude of 5.60 m. The owner has been the municipality of Deventer since 1967. The mill is operated by the Bolwerksmolen Foundation. Miller has been Ber Fort since 2002.
At the beginning of the 21st century, the mill was found to have collapsed to such an extent that a major one-and-a-half year restoration was necessary. The mill was completely dismantled, piles were placed in the ground and a new foundation was laid. Then the mill could be rebuilt. The fuselage and the hood were also refurbished. Since spring 2007, the mill has been able to do its work again and the blades are working as usual.
