Summer is almost over and flowers are wilting, dropping their heads, making one last attempt to provide offspring.
One flower releases the seed pods to go with the wind to ensure that next year there are beautiful flowers again. The other flower is still encapsulated. The fluffy seeds are not yet ripe pom pom to fly out into the wind and the flower is still protecting them. When the flower is sufficiently ripe, when the sun is shining, it will open, wither but give the seed fluff the chance to blow out with the wind.
This macro photo has a deliberately limited sharpness. At the front of the photo, the structure of the flower is sharp and then comes the blur which detaches the flower from the background and makes the photo more three-dimensional.
In terms of colour and atmosphere, it is a true autumn photo of a flower that has died out. It is part of the series of photographs with the general title: "Abstract nature, still lives of fading life." And a beautiful still life of a flower it certainly is.
