Sometimes it is not the bright colours in the sky that impress the most. It is often precisely the quiet, subdued moments in between. One quiet, beautiful morning I was standing on a pebble path in the floodplains of Oosterbeek (municipality of Renkum). The world around me was silent, as if everything was taking a break. The sky coloured softly, without spectacular patterns. Yet this moment felt special and precious to me.
I stayed at PDC De Herberg for several weeks. To catch my breath and unwind. Here I sort of rediscovered photography again. Of course, I had been doing it for much longer. Even during the difficult period. But here I learned what it costs me and what it gives me. In short, we are trying to get out there again more often.
That morning, I stood behind my tripod, calm and attentive. I chose my frame carefully and waited for the moment when the light fell just right across the floodplain. The sunrise came slowly and without exuberant colours. Yet deep down I felt a personal wow moment .
My passion is to capture the beauty of the landscape through photography. In recent years, I have visited several coastlines, as that is where my passion lies above all else.
