About "The harvest keeper"

by Klaus Tesching

About the artwork

As if detached from a baroque still life, the young woman is enthroned between abundance and light - surrounded by lemons, pomegranates, oranges, grapes, cabbage and roses. And yet she is more than a muse of nature. Her gaze is serious, almost timeless, as if she is part of an ancient cycle that man has long since turned his back on.

Her dress shines like liquid sunlight, infused with an inner glow - as if the splendour of the harvested fruit is reflected back into her heart. Every fold of her garment seems to breathe with the waves of ripe fields, every reflection of light carries the rhythm of a season.

In one hand she holds redcurrants, delicate yet symbolic - like offerings or signs of remembrance. The other rests naturally in the splendour of the fruit - not possessing, but preserving.

"The Harvester" is more than an allegory of abundance. She embodies the balance between earth and man, between nourishment and reverence. Her face is not sentimental, but calm and alert - as if she were watching over what we do with the gifts of the earth.

An image full of warmth and responsibility that does not celebrate beauty, but protects it. A silent reminder that abundance can never be taken for granted - it is always a gift that needs to be kept.
