This image captures the Japanese covered bridge at Hội An, an iconic monument steeped in history. Built in the 17th century by the Japanese community settled in the city, this bridge is the only one of its kind in Vietnam. It symbolises the link between the different cultures that have shaped Hội An - Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese.
Its finely carved wooden architecture, curved tiled roof, and brightly coloured decorative details make it a true jewel of heritage. Under the bridge, the calm waters reflect the entire structure, reinforcing the impression of serenity and harmony.
The bridge is more than just a passageway: it also houses a small shrine dedicated to the protective genie Tran Vo Bac De, believed to ward off natural disasters.
Located in the old quarter, this site attracts visitors who come to admire the peaceful beauty and unique cultural mix that reigns in the old town. It is a must-see place of remembrance, contemplation and photography in Hội An.
