About "The house of the pianist"

About the artwork

In the foyer of a once magnificent villa stands an abandoned grand piano, placed at the foot of a majestic staircase. The keys are yellowed and dusty, some are broken or out of tune, but they still seem to preserve the melodies of times gone by. The plaster on the walls is crumbling away, revealing the weathered brickwork beneath, while the shadows of decaying chandeliers stretch across the floor.

The light streams through the tall stained glass windows of the entrance door and casts soft rays onto the piano, as if to bring the forgotten sounds back to life. The staircase behind the piano winds elegantly upwards and acts as a silent witness to the stories that have been played out in this room. The decay is clearly visible - cracks run across the walls and the smell of mould and dust is in the air. In this melancholy setting, you can sense the longing for past celebrations and the unforgettable moments that once took place here.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
