I took this picture during our trip through Asia and Indonesia. The island of Bali could not be missing from it. One early morning, before sunrise, I drove to the rice fields of Jatiluwah. Unfortunately, it was not a bright morning with a colourful sunrise, but eventually the sun came through and the slightly grey clouds create a nice dramatic effect. As is typical of Indonesia, people often work together, so did these women. After asking if I could photograph them, I stood and admired them for a while. They chat a bit, laugh a bit, and slowly they get their work done together. There is no hurry, which I sometimes envy.
By rendering the photo in the shape of the island itself, it reminds me even more of Bali.
This particular photo of a rice paddy on the island of Bali, formed by picturesque rice fields, palm trees and hard-working women, is a true work of art that will make you long for, or think back to/make you want to take an unforgettable trip to this exotic paradise. Bali is known for its breathtaking rice terraces, which adorn the island's fertile hills like green patchwork. This photo captures these wonders of nature, while showing the efforts of the Balinese women who work tirelessly to cultivate and maintain the rice paddies. Their dedication to their work and their families is a symbol of the Balinese culture's strong sense of community and philosophy of life. This print is available on various materials such as canvas, photo paper, as well as, for example, Xpozer or Art Frame
