The 2022 war in Eastern Europe between Russia and Ukraine is driving gasoline prices to record highs, climate concerns are causing a reversal in people's thoughts and behavior. Is this the last decade where these brightly lit beacons of "progress" still exist?
The source of inspiration for this photo is the series by the photographer Ralf Peters, in which he captured gas stations in a similar way. In this photo, a low statue and a wide-angle lens were chosen to still reproduce the once powerful image. The lack of activity is in stark contrast to the desires of the powerful oil company.
