About ‘The modern milkmaid’ by Anne Verhelst

The Modern Milkmaid was inspired by the work of Johannes Vermeer.

The Milkmaid, also known as The Kitchen or Milkmaid, is a painting by the Dutch master Johannes Vermeer from around 1660. In a 1696 auction catalog, the work is listed as A Meyd pouring Milk.

A fresh painting with authentic nods to old-fashioned painting.

A compliment to our grandmasters.

This painting will bring a warm homely feeling with it.
The typical old-fashioned Grolsch bottle. Real Dutch currant buns with a glass of milk.

The original work is painted on linen with oil paint.
The oil paint is the original brand that Vermeer used to paint with.

The work gives at least 100 working hours. The oil technique requires knowledge, patience and is built up of layers.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
