That Dam, nicknamed the Black Stupa, is one of the Laotian capital's most enigmatic monuments. Located in the heart of Vientiane, this ancient moss-covered stupa with a patina of age intrigues visitors with its dark appearance and fascinating legend. According to tradition, it is home to a seven-headed naga (mythical snake) that protected the city during the Siamese invasion of the 19th century. Today, although dilapidated and unrestored, it exudes a spiritual and timeless atmosphere, a blend of history, mystery and nature. It is a place that is both discreet and full of soul, popular with photographers and travellers in search of authenticity.
Passionate about photography, I travel the world in search of the most beautiful shots.
