How difficult it always is to tell those black birds apart. The Jackdaw, the Rook, the Raven and the Crow. Generally, the jackdaws are the best known although most people call them crows.
This work was inspired by a photo I took in Meijendal, here a Rook was sitting high on a branch of a dead tree.
These black birds are often seen as bringers of bad luck and often play mythical supporting roles in films. But never underestimate the intilect of these birds, they are incredibly clever and handy.
