Lianne on The night awaits the dogs
A beautiful painting inspired by Rembrandt van Rijn's world-famous work the Night Watch 1642. Captain Frans Banninck Cocq's company prepares to march out. In my Night Watch, the dogs are marching and somewhere hidden among all the big dogs, a cat runs terrified. A beautifully detailed canvas from the Old Masters series with a wink.
After many years of experimenting with different styles, materials and subjects, Lianne Schotman has now created her own unique technique.
She combines digital art with painting.
Putting together different images, colours and textures creates a beautiful interplay. Using a mixed media technique, she glues her digital prints onto a canvas. These are then painted again to make 1 whole. Her work can be called surrealistic, but with its own twist!
She has several favourite subjects such as famous icons (Marilyn Monroe), Old Masters with a modern twist, but she also likes to paint beautiful mysterious faces, merging rougher backgrounds, colours and a face.
I love art and I love trying out all kinds of things.
Would you like something in a different colour or looking for something just a little different? Or would you like an original painted painting? Lianne also works on commission. So feel free to contact her to discuss your wishes.
