About ‘The night squid’ by DesignedByJoost

Diving in the dark is still always exciting no matter how many times I have done it. Certain animals such as lobsters, octopuses and, of course, squids come much more alive at night. This photo was taken in Aruba at the Tres Trapi dive site in fairly shallow water. For me, it is my favourite place to dive at night and look for these pictures. This is a squid and because it has a dark background, the colours of this animal come out beautifully. This picture appeals to me because I find it so special what colours nature can show you. It is a picture that would fit beautifully in a hotel lobby, bedroom or living room.

My name is Joost Boerman, born in the netherlands, but when I was 20, I moved to the sunny island of Aruba. Here I discovered the beauty of the underwater world. Soon I bought a gopro to capture this world. But when I moved to Australia a few years later, I was able to buy a professional underwater camera and this was the start of a great hobby. I invested in more lenses to capture big animals, from whales to the smallest creatures like nudibranchs. Sins I left my hometown…

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
