About ‘The 'old Sint Jan' in 's-Hertogenbosch’ by Frederike Heuvel

Early in the morning, when the sun bathes 's-Hertogenbosch in a golden light and the city is still empty and sleepy, it is wonderful to wander through all those beautiful streets and past all those wonderful buildings that the city has to offer. The peace and quiet and the light make your eye fall on things you would otherwise be less likely to notice.

In this photo you see the Sint Janskathedraal in the center of Den Bosch on a sunny morning. The photo was taken from Den Boerenmouw. The warm light and the contrast between the fragile, broken piece of glass and the grandiose, robustness of the cathedral appealed to me about this scene.

This is a work for people who have a connection with Den Bosch. Whether that is because of the beautiful streets, the Sint Jan, the nice boutiques, the friendly people or the cozy atmosphere.
